The Xprotolab Plain is the most inexpensive but feature rich oscilloscope in the market. It consists of a simple DIP module with a USB interface. Visualization of the signals and controlling the oscilloscope is done on the PC interface software (open source). The Xprotolab Plain is similar to the original Xprotolab, but doesn't have the display and buttons, so it only works with the USB interface. The board measures only 1 x 2 inches, and can be mounted directly on a breadboard. The Xprotolab can also be used as a development board for the AVR XMEGA microcontroller.

All the parts are soldered with the exception of the headers.
Optional Accessories (soldering required):
- PDI Programming Header: Only needed to do firmware debugging on the device.
- Bluetooth Header: Only needed to hook up external devices, such as the Bluetooth RF Module.
- Jumper Wires: Useful for breadboard prototyping, 6" male to male.
- USB OTG Adapter: To connect to an Android device

EXCELLENT product. I keep mine on a tiny dedicated breadboard so that I don\'t have to wire it into each circuit I want to test; I just leave header pin probes plugged in all ready to go. I\'ve also soldered the headers on so that the pinout silkscreen is visible on top, which leaves the the usb connector hanging off the end of the breadboard so that I can get a larger cable/adapter onto it and I don\'t have to refer to the doc every time I bust it out. The interface software is very good and does include meter mode now (1/5/2015). I might ask for a way to choose log plotting in order to have a true bode plot. Overall incredible value and a very useful tool for me (mechanical engineering student).frank allison
